During the 1920’s and 1930’s Aggie students formed two ‘spirit groups’ to promote the Aggie spirit at all of the varsity sports events. The men had a group called the ‘Howling Sixty’ and the women formed a similar group they called the ‘Snappy Thirty’. Our photo shows the ‘Snappy Thirty’ as they pose for a group photo taken in 1929 at the base of the massive campus flagpole located on the lawn east of Spruce Hall. It appears some of the group failed to show up for the photo.
