This photo was scanned from the book Flapper by Joshua Zeitz. My favorite part of the book were the excerpts from Lois Long’s column in The New Yorker. She was known as “Lipstick” and chronicled her nightly adventures in New York’s speakeasies and nightclubs in her column. She was the epitome of the 1920s Flapper. She was also recently featured in the excellent Ken Burns’ documentary Prohibition.
